The Alexander Mens Wear Junior Cardinals went into the Victoria Day long weekend on the upside following a 18-3 victory over the Parkland Padres on home field last Thursday night.

A seemingly large group of staff and students from the Regional High School in Yorkton are anxiously looking forward to this year's Walk and Roll, an initiative which they are hoping will catch on like a major flu epidemic.

The GSSD held their annual track and field meet Friday morning at the Yorkton Regional High School's Century Field and at the end of the day, four records had been broken.

The YRHS held their 4th Annual Archery Shoot took place over the weekend in their home gymnasium. Numerous thank yous went out to individuals for being a well-run tournament.

Her school colours are gold and green but Morgan Shymanski's new favourite colour has got to be gold. It's been quite the golden year for the Gr. 9 student at Sacred Heart High School.

Anyone who happened to be flipping the TV channels last Wednesday night and found a channel which showed a bunch of basketball players acting like they were rioting, could easily be forgiven if he/she thought something of unbelievably high importance

The City of Yorkton parks staff has taken the initiative to implement a new sport. There is a course set up for nine-hole disc golf at Patrick Park on King St. Holes were filled recently and the course is ready for play.

The 18U womens volleyball team competed in Abbotsord, BC from May 13-15. The tournament included 230 male and female teams from across the country converged and played in the 17U/18U categories.

For the month of March, the Sacred Heart athlete of the month comes from the senior boys basketball team. He is a rookie that came to the team with a lot of experience.

Flip on the television to watch the San Francisco Giants play and you might see a familiar player on the mound, familiar at least for fans of the Western Major Baseball League Yorkton Cardinals.
