The Yorkton Harvest have lost 26 games so far this season. Apparently none of those losses hurt as much as the one on Saturday night.

The YRHS senior boys basketball team is live on the Internet this week (see related story on this week's Sports Front Page). The YRHS plays today and again tomorrow. Games are broadcast live on the Coal Bowl web page, from New Waterford, Nova Scotia.

The Yorkton Terriers used a five-point week to climb back into sole possession of second place in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Sherwood Conference.

The Prince Albert Mintos badly outshot the Yorkton Harvest but could not out score them. For the second time in two weeks, regulation time ended with a mad scramble in front of the opposition's net.

The Saskatchewan Volleyball Association hosted its first set of age-group tournament for the 2012 indoor season this past weekend with game dates in both Yorkton and Saskatoon. These tournaments kicked off the season which runs from January to May.

The Yorkton Regional High School (YRHS) and Sacred Heart High School (SHHS) will be jointly hosting the 2nd Annual York City Classic Boys Basketball Tournament this weekend.

Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association (SHSAA) senior boys basketball action continued into the new year for SHHS as they headed to Estevan recently for an eight-team tournament (Jan. 13-14).

A junior curling tournament was held over the weekend at the local club involving 31 teams from all over the region, including four area schools.

One of the youngest teams in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League just got younger. It's not helping them a whole lot on the scoreboard though.
