The Yorkton stop on the Saskatchewan Men's Curling Tour landed over the weekend at the Yorkton Curling Club, the winners coming from Moose Jaw.

The Lady Saints of Sacred Heart soccer placed in third at the provincial tournament over the weekend in Regina. They won bronze in the 2A girls provincials held in Regina.

If you are a regular reader you will know I am a rather big fan of Daredevil Discs, one of two Canadian manufacturers of golf discs. Daredevil has a strong line-up of discs and their current drivers and putters have been discussed here previously.

The Yorkton Regional High School Gr. 9 girls volleyball team took home gold in the District Championships this weekend in Churchbridge. They went through the round robin undefeated with wins against Churchbridge, Esterhazy, and Preeceville.

On Sunday, October 23, Tim Oehler (instructor/owner of Sil Foo Kung Fu in Melville, SK) completed the Haidong Gumdo Black Belt program. He was successful in the exam and is the second student in Yorkton to do it.

The Williston TaeKwonDo and Judo Academy was represented at the 13th Annual Prairie Wildfire TaeKwonDo (TKD) Challenge recently at the Gallagher Centre.

The Sacred Heart Saints senior boys' volleyball team competed at the Hepburn Hawks tournament on Oct. 21-22. The tournament consisted of six teams: Hepburn, Clavet, Sacred Heart, Vonda, Borden and Perdue, said SHHS coach Curtis Moen.

The Yorkton Regional High School (YRHS) Raider senior boys volleyball team has their eyes set on a strong finish at the southern regional playdowns later this month.

The Sacred Heart senior boys volleyball team got a bit of a boost over the weekend when a few of their regulars came back in time for a match with rivals, the YRHS Raiders.
