The Harvest skated into Swift Current Saturday afternoon. They looked just fine until the third period. Yorkton jumped out to a 2-0 lead by the end of the second period on goals by Lynnden Pastachak and Nicholas Pouliot.

The Yorkton Terriers took it on the chin on the weekend losing both ends of a Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League home-and-home set with Melville.

The Sacred Heart junior girls basketball team headed off to Weyburn recently to play in a 12-team tournament, said coach Brian Chisholm.

The Sacred Heart senior football team put up over 180 all purpose yards which led to their third win in three tries during Saskatchewan High Schools Athletics Association action last Thursday.

The Sacred Heart senior team head out on the road for their first road game of the season. They are scheduled to take on Foam Lake on Oct. 13. Both Sacred Heart and Foam Lake's club are undefeated heading into the game.

Born and raised in Yorkton, Maria-Leena Clarke has been hired by Canada Basketball. A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, Clarke has returned from 15 years in Europe to become the Director of Marketing and Partnerships with Canada Basketball.

There were Boxing Day-style lineups last Tuesday at the Yorkton Co-op but they had nothing to do with the latest sales available.

The Yorkton Terriers lost a pair of road games on the weekend to even their season record at 3-3, good for six points.
