The Good Spirit School Division held its second of three cross country meets for their students recently at the Deer Park Municipal Golf Course.

The SMAAAHL Harvest and Saskatoon Contacts split a pair of games over the weekend at the Farrell Agencies Arena. "We were hoping for a win," says head coach Jeff Odgers following a 4-2 loss Sunday.

The Sacred Heart Gr. 9 boys volleyball team participated in a 12-team tournament during Saskatchewan High Schools Athletics Association (SHSAA) over the weekend. Chad Holinaty, coach of the team, said it is a learning experience for the team.

The YRHS juniors have slipped to 3-4 following a 34-12 setback over the weekend at Century Field. The Regina Stampeders came to town for a Saturday afternoon match and improved their overall record to 4-3 as a result.

The Sacred Heart Saints senior girls volleyball team traveled to Estevan to take part in a seven-team tournament on Sept. 30 and Oct 1.

The Sacred Heart Saints senior boys volleyball team traveled to Langenburg on Sept. 24 to attend the annual Screamin' Eagles invitational tournament, said Saints coach Curtis Moen.

There are times, when researching an interest you come across something which immediately has your attention.

The Yorkton Gridders continued their season Sunday afternoon with a game against the PW Griffins. They fell by a 8-6 score. Head coach Jason Farrell said the team was flat. The Griffins scored a touchdown and added a two point convert, he said.

The Sacred Heart Lady Saints of soccer had some success in two previous tournaments which they attended in Prince Albert (Sept. 9-10) and in Moose Jaw (Sept. 16-17). That made it time for a little success on home pitch.

The Terriers played twice at home this week, winning both contests at the Farrell Agencies Arena to push their early season Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League record to 3-1.
