Saskatchewan and Texas are probably two of the best places to be at this time of year especially if you happen to be a football nut. Saskatchewan has one professional football team and a whole bunch of other clubs operating.

Larry Orth and the late Ed Stefureak will be receiving induction into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame this weekend in Battleford. Orth was born April 11, 1950, in Esterhazy, SK.

It was the Yorkton Junior Cardinals and the Willowbrook Royals in the final series of the South East Senior Baseball League and the Cardinals went three up three down to win the championship title.

There was an awful lot of golf played both locally and on the professional scene last week. The SGI Canada Junior Order of Merit Tour was played at both York Lake Golf and Country Club and at Deer Park Municipal golf course.
