The Sacred Heart Jr. Saints football team held their season opener at home last Wednesday afternoon against the Esterhazy Jr. Warriors.

The Yorkton Terriers' regular season kick-off is Friday in Weyburn, before returning to the Farrell Agencies Arena Saturday for their home opener.

Tanner Kardynal had his moment under the lights. For the first time in his senior football career, he had about a 30 second run after which he had every reason to feel like Devin Hester.

The 10th annual YRHS Run for Peace Cross Country Meet took place on Friday at Cherrydale Golf Course. Over 700 athletes took part in the meet. Finishes were broken down into categories.

The new school season is just barely underway but the senior girls soccer team already has one game under their belts, as well as one victory to start the 2011-12 season.

Most new players and honestly most manufacturers put a lot of effort into drivers. As an example two new manufacturers; Skyquest and Skyiron just coming to the marketplace have produced drivers first.

The only thing better then Monday Night Football will be Friday Night Football. Friday Night Lights, as Roby Sharpe termed it last Friday night when his game ended. In two days' time, it will be night time when the thing starts.

The season has started for the YRHS football team. They will play under the lights on Friday when they host the Martin Collegiate team Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
