As with many organizations, such as ours, finances and active volunteers are always at a premium.

Through their opening two games of Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association (SHSAA) senior football games, the team is now 2-0. Their latest victim, the Swan River Tigers, took it on the chin Thursday on Sacred Heart field.

A group of archers from Yorkton and surrounding area will be the lone Canadians in attendance when the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) puts on its world challenge this week in Florida.

If there is a such thing as a Game 7 in football, the Yorkton Gridders would find themselves smack-dab in the middle of one this Saturday. Lose, and they are done. Win, and they might live to fight/play another day.

The YRHS Raider senior football team got a little bit closer to a .500 record over the weekend. They almost did it in shut out style too.

The Yorkton Taekwondo Association and Kee's Taekwondo are hosting their 13th Annual Prairie Wildfire Invitational Tournament on Oct. 22. Over 40 schools from North Dakota, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Manitoba have been extended invitations.

The Sacred Heart boys' soccer team combined for a total of 20 goals during three matches played between Friday afternoon and Saturday. Sacred Heart opened the tournament with a 6-nil victory over Weyburn. Game two put them up against Luther College.

The Sacred Heart senior girls volleyball team traveled to Regina recently to take part in the MegaVolley Tournament.

In a day that saw three, four-quarter football games played out one-after-the-other, you are bound to see some interesting things. They include, but are not limited to, the element of sportsmanship was on display Saturday at Century Field.
