The heavy horse demonstration held during the Preeceville Canada 150 celebration on August 5 brought back memories from the past for many residents.

The community of Preeceville welcomed many visitors to the Canada 150 celebrations held on August 4 to 6. The weekend kicked off with children's activities at the Preeceville Lions Kiddies Park.

The newly renamed Sturgis Composite School received an interior and exterior makeover to accommodate the elementary students into the existing high school.

Amateur radio operators in the area will be joining others in a Parkland Amateur Radio Club ham festival on August 12.

The Saskatchewan Trappers Association hosted a two-day fun rendezvous that featured numerous events showcasing different traps, techniques and fur bearing animals found in the area.

Accomplished pianist Samuel Deason and Rhea Kim, both of Saskatoon, have taken a strong stance on the subject of cultural appropriation.

Paige Hansen and her mother Michelle, both of Sturgis, and her aunt Alisa Worobetz of Saskatoon have been Saskatchewan Roughrider fans for five years and have showed their support at each home game.

The Sturgis Trojans lacrosse team in the U-16 category brought home the gold medal and provincial title in the provincial championships held in Saskatoon on June 17. The three teams participating included Sturgis, Yorkton and Saskatoon.
