SCHS juniors host tournament

The Sturgis Composite High School junior girls and boys hosted basketball tournaments on December 11 and 12 with four teams participating. The junior girls tournament had teams from Canora, Norquay, Kamsack and the host team Sturgis.

The Preeceville Atom Pats won the Tisdale tournament on December 12 and 13. The Pats defeated The Pas in the first game of the weekend with a 10-1 final score. In their second game, the Pats defeated Kelvington/RV by a score of 7-2.

The Christmas season kicked off with the Preeceville and District Ministerial Association’s inter-community Carol Festival with many Christmas musical selections. The festival was held at the Sturgis Composite High School on December 6.

Community members gathered in the cold to pay tribute to loved ones who died throughout the years in a special Christmas bulb lighting ceremony. The ceremony was held in Preeceville at the end of Main Street where the memorial tree is located.
