The Honourable Kevin Doherty, Minister of Parks, Culture and Sport along with the Coaches Association of Saskatchewan has once again proclaimed May 25 - June 1, 2013 as Coaches Week in Saskatchewan.

Monastery slated for demolition

A Yorkton landmark will be gone possibly as early as next spring. At a meeting May 15, St. Mary's Parish made the final decision to demolish its 100-year-old monastery, now rectory.

Yorkton RCMP have made four arrests related to a three-day crime wave of break, enter and theft in the city. Since May 25th, 2013, Yorkton Municipal Detachment has responded to 28 complaints of break and enter or theft-related offences.

The provincial government is providing approximately $293,000 in financial support to agencies that operate the province's problem gambling help line services.

Annie Ostafichuk, beloved wife of Peter Ostafichuk of Canora passed away on May 8, 2013, at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, at the age of 75 years. Annie was born on October 26, 1937, to Peter and Julia (Parnetta) Lozinski.
