Usually, my column is about random topics where I try to polarize the readers by making them agree with me whole heartedly or disagree with me to the point that you may believe I'm completely nuts.

As talk of a new football stadium in Regina heats up, talk of the need for it and fairness in paying for it are heating up as well.

Ronald James Sharpe, January 30, 1945 - July 5, 2012. Ron passed away peacefully at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre on July 5 at the age of 67 years. Ron was born in Yorkton and was raised on the family farm in the Rokeby district.

The Yorkton United U14 Core Real Estate Fury soccer team travelled to Regina this weekend (July 6-8) to compete in the annual A.C.F.C. Summerfest soccer tournament.

Over 200 G4S Security, first aid personnel, volunteers from Dauphin's Fire Department, Parkland Ambulance staff and RCMP worked together on site to quickly respond to requests for assistance over the weekend.

This week we feature two accounts by York Colony homesteaders, Edward W. Bull, originally from Toronto and Joseph Caldwell originally from Lancashire, England. Bull, Edward W. Edward W. Bull, comes back to Yorkton for a visit in 1932.

Mr. Allan Stumph of Yorkton, beloved husband of Audrey passed away peacefully at his home on July 1, 2012 with his loving wife by his side. Allan Kenneth Stumph was born on September 11, 1942, to Alex and Mary Stumph.

Yorkton Council has approved a tender for the 2012 Asphalt Paving Program. "This is an annual program that deals with paving of various areas in the city," explained Joshua Mickleborough, Engineering Manager with the City.
