Yorkton This Week

The lacrosse Bulldogs pulled off with their first win of the season Sunday afternoon at Yorkton Kinsmen Arena. They played two games in Prairie Gold Lacrosse League (PGLL) action over the weekend.

The Parkland Racing Association Inc., has released its stock car race schedule for the summer season. There will be a total of seven race dates and one demo derby, scheduled for the final weekend on the schedule. All race dates start at 2 p.m.

Eva Cooper passed away peacefully on May 20, 2012 at the Regina General Hospital, Regina, SK. She was 89 years of age. Eva was born on March 28, 1923 in Hungary, the first of three born to Casper and Anna Haas.

Jessica Lutz of Yorkdale Central Public School got back to her winning ways at the big track meet. She cleaned up at the GSSD meet a couple weeks ago.

The Yorkton Minor Football Association held a spring tackle football camp which helped introduce the Association to a different form of tackling.

It was another strong showing for the Sacred Heart High School track and field team.

Not much blocks our soundscape in Tinytown. No long swish of traffic, incessant sirens, or engines revving. Birds give concerts day and night, particularly in the spring. Occasionally we hear the screech of a kite hawk or an owl on the prowl.

Yorkton Regional High School's annual Walk and Roll Day will be a provincewide event this year.
