Yorkton was in the spotlight on the CTV news program W5 on Saturday night as Lloyd Robertson came to our city to profile the Kim Walker murder case. The whole thing is unbelievably sad.

Jean Petruschak (nee Tkachuk) After a short illness, our loving Grandmother, Jean Petruschak passed away at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK on February 2, 2012 at the age of 87.

Yorkton Council designated events marking the efforts of two long-time service clubs at their regular meeting Monday. Rotary Day was designated for Feb. 23, while Kinsmen and Kinette Day will be Feb. 21, as part of Kinsmen and Kinette Week Feb.

Michael Melnychuk was born on August 28, 1923 in the Hamton district of SK; a son of George and Mary (nee Pelabroda) Melnychuk. He was raised on the family farm and received his schooling in the district.

Olga "Ollie" Louise Clemens of Moose Jaw, formerly of Yorkton passed away peacefully February 8, 2012 at the age of 84. Ollie was born in Markinch February 4, 1928. She lived most of her life in Boharm District and Moose Jaw.
