Yorkton This Week

Volleyball just finished, now it's onto basketball and curling for the Yorkton Central Public School. Yorkdale's boys and girls team will both play out of Conference 3 this season.

Bennie Theodore Ness, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital, Melville, SK at the age of 92 years. Ben was born at Plainview, SK on December 21, 1918.

Mrs. Rose Minke of Aspen Bluffs Villa in Yorkton passed away on December 2, 2011. She was 87 years of age. Rose was born in October 4, 1924 near Springside, SK to parents Gustav and Elsie Mantay.

John Brian George. George Dawson passed away suddenly on December 2, 2011. He was born on October 24, 1937 in Vancouver, BC and worked as a teacher all over Canada.

Clinton Bruce Morley April 27, 1957 - December 10, 2011. The family of Clint Morley are saddened to announce his sudden passing in his home on December 10, 2011. Clint was born and raised in Yorkton, SK.

Myles Andrew Kuzyk was born on May 16, 1940, in Arcola, SK, the son of Andrew and Annie Kuzyk. He died on December 7, 2011, at Good Spirit Lake, SK, at the age of 71 years.

An arrest has been made and charges have been laid in connection to two armed robberies held in the city this winter.
