Four Saskatchewan musicians are coming together for an eight community tour leading up to Christmas, and 5th Avenue Cup & Saucer in Yorkton will be one of the stops.

Jean Washenfelder, a compassionate, caring and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to all, passed away peacefully at the Saskatoon Convalescent Home on Tuesday, November 29, 2011.

On Saturday, November 12, the Yorkton Martial Arts Training Centre (YMATC) hosted a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seminar.

The Boston Pizza Yorkton Regional High School Female Student of the Month for September is Raquel Morales. Raquel is a grade 11 student who is originally from Guatemala.

Water rates in Yorkton are climbing for the seventh year in-a-row, but by the lowest rate in those years. This year the rate, which Yorkton Council unanimously approved at its regular meeting Monday, will be 2.75 per cent.

Mr. Mike Rohatensky of Yorkton, beloved husband of Julia entered eternal rest on Friday, November 25, 2011 at the Regina General Hospital with his family by his side. He was 82 years of age.

The McDonald's Atom hockey tournament over the weekend came down to Yorkton taking on itself to determine the winner on the 'B' side. Yorkton Richardson beat Yorkton B and K Trucking in the game played at the Farrell Agencies Arena.

Stan Stephenson presented a cheque for $5,000 to Ross Fisher, Executive Director of The Health Foundation, to help fund the building of a new regional hospital. Stephenson made the contribution on behalf of himself and his late wife Lena.

Paul Blair Nestransky 1940 - 2011. Mr. Paul Blair Nestransky of Vulcan, AB passed away at Vulcan Extendicare on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the age of 71 years. He was born in Saskatoon, SK on August 9, 1940 to parents Helen and Paul Nestransky.
