Dear Editor: The York Lake Road issue is still a very hot topic - especially for those of us that must drive it daily.

The Saskatchewan Housing Corporation has announced a $1.7 million family housing project for Yorkton. Three new duplex homes (six rental units total) will be constructed on 7th Avenue North by the summer of 2012.

The September Showcase for the SJHL was held in Estevan over the weekend. There were over two dozen scouts taking in the action, including eight National Hockey League teams that were represented.

The Yorkton Film Festival is now accepting submissions for its 2012 festival season. Submissions will be accepted until the deadline of January 31, 2012 at which time the adjudication process will begin.

Yorkton Council has approved the Rural Municipality of Orkney's plan to put a new culvert under York Lake Road.

In a recent survey conducted by the Yorkton Chamber of Commerce, Chamber members were asked to select from two lists the three issues they deemed to be of most importance facing the City of Yorkton and the 3 issues facing the province.
