July 10 to July 16 has been proclaimed Saskatchewan Parks Week, by Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Bill Hutchinson. Saskatchewan Parks Week celebrates the natural, cultural and historical landscape of our province.

An exhibition of new works by Canadian artist Jeanette Marshall is the centerpiece of the Godfrey Dean Art Gallery this July and August. The exhibition of oil and pastel paintings, titled 'Primal Nature,' is on display from July 4 to August 26.

Under ten soccer teams compete in Regina

The Yorkton United FC Under 10 soccer program travelled to Regina Canada Day long weekend to compete in ACFC Summerfest Soccer Tournament. The first game was YUFC Kinsmen up against YUFC Storm, after a close game, YUFC Storm came out on top 2-0.

Lighting project gets go-ahead

Work first approved by Yorkton Council in 2010 will proceed following a unanimous decision of Council at its regular meeting Monday. Council approved the extension of Kelsey Bay and signalization of a new Broadway Street East intersection in 2010.

After our first winter in our home, at the foot of the clothesline cross, I saw rhubarb being born. A triplet of hard pink knots, closely followed by their leaves, chartreuse and tightly crumpled.
