The Government of Saskatchewan has announced it has selected Conexus Venture Capital Inc. (CVC) as the fund manager for the government's $15 million agtech venture capital investment.

The Indian Head RCMP are investigating the theft of windmill that is close to 100 years old. Sometime between May 16 and May 19, 2021 a 41 foot galvanized steel windmill was stolen from a rural property near Vibank.

Effective, 8:00 a.m., June 7, 2021, the Saskatchewan Health Authority has accelerated access to second doses of COVID-19 vaccine to anyone who is 60 years and older OR who received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on or before March 29.

The Yorkton U13 AAA Expos had a good Saturday at Jubilee Park in the city. The Expos hosted the Regina Buffalos in doubleheader action. In the opening match-up the Expos recorded an 8-3 win, with Chase Hembling the winning pitcher.

The Saltcoats Volunteer Fire Department was busy Saturday and it was not a fire call-out. The department started early with a ‘Drive Thru’ Pancake and sausage breakfast at the Fire Hall starting a 7 a.m.

Action in the Richardson Pioneer Men’s Fastball League continues. Western Cycle Division June 4 Foam Lake Merchants defeated Balcarres Bronx.4-1 WP James Anderson HR Andreaus del Reyes Logan Kristjanson 2/3 Brennan Hack 2/3.

Action in the South East Saskatchewan Baseball League is about to hit the diamond for a new season with five teams involved including three local teams; the Yorkton Pirates, newly minted Marlins and the 18U Cardinals.

A new Lions Club is looking to make a difference in the community. The New Generations Lions Club, which sits at 55 members currently, is a separate entity from the Yorkton Lions Club but has many of the same goals.
