Premier Scott Moe announced Thursday the province will get a head-start on phase two of the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan for the long weekend, with golf courses and drive-in theaters being able to open May 15.

UPDATE ​​A presumpt​​ive case of coronavirus (COVID-19) previously announced on May 14 has now been officially confirmed as negative.

The latest numbers of COVID-19 cases in the province were more encouraging news for Premier Scott Moe at his daily news conference in Regina. The province reported five new cases – four in La Loche and one in Regina.

As of May 14, 2020, Saskatchewan has five new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the provincial total to 582. Four of the new cases are in the Far North (La Loche area) and one is in the Regina region.

A trial for a 29-year-old Cochin area man charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of his father in 2018 is being rescheduled. The trial was set to run from May 19 to 27, 2020, in Battlefords Court of Queen’s Bench.
