The City of North Battleford is moving ahead with plans to get work done on the Highway 16 service road in front of Frontier Centre mall.

The City of North Battleford has officially proclaimed Aug. 20-26 as Battlefords Pride Week. The proclamation was read at council Monday night by Mayor Ryan Bater.

What has already been a slow year for building permits in North Battleford got a little slower in July. Monthly numbers for July 2019 saw 10 permits issued for $802,500.

Council gives Jan. 2020 deadline for a plan

The City of North Battleford will live up to its funding commitment for a new Handi-bus, but in a different way than council anticipated.

The gallery at City Hall was a sea of red Monday evening. Supporters of North Battleford Firefighters Local 1756, the union representing fulltime firefighters in the city, were out in full force at a meeting of city council.

The star attraction at this year’s Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum induction dinner was celebrated major league pitcher Ferguson “Fergie” Jenkins.

There was a big turnout of visitors for Those Were the Days, the signature weekend of the Western Development Museum in North Battleford. This year marked the 50th anniversary of the event, running Aug. 17 and 18.
