Thursday afternoon last week, a presentation was made of proceeds from the 5th Annual Gold Eagle Casino PBR Classic Presented by McDonalds, held in July in North Battleford. A total of $34,926.

Representatives from the Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation joined Action Now for their Christmas lunch Dec. 12 and were presented a donation of $5,500 toward a new hospital mammography machine.

The Empty Stocking Fund Christmas Hamper campaign is over for another years.

Wednesday, Dec. 19, was an important day for the members of Battlefords Agency Tribal Chiefs. The occasion was the Annual General Assembly for the organization.

Now that the Battlefords North Stars have reached their 12-day Christmas break, it’s a good time to review the season so far and see how the team and the players stack up on the statistical side of the ledger.

Battlefords Masonic Lodge, Ionic No. 31, installed their new slate of officers for 2019 on Friday evening, Dec. 14.

Eighteen Saskatchewan lawyers are being honoured with the Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.) designation for their contributions to the legal profession and public service, including local lawyer Eleanore Sunchild.

Kanaweyimik Child and Family Services is expanding across the street in Battleford. The organization, currently located south of Town Hall, purchased the former school board office across the street (and west of 1st Avenue) from Town Hall.

On the afternoon of Dec. 12, the North Battleford Elks were on hand to present a cheque for $1,000 to the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
