The sod has officially been turned to mark the construction of a new housing project at 1132 98th Street in North Battleford. The project is a supported rooming house that will house eight hard-to-house individuals at that location.

An individual facing several drug and weapons charges has entered several guilty pleas in North Battleford provincial court Tuesday.

Curling season has come early to enthusiasts in the Battlefords and Saskatchewan. The much-anticipated CurlSask high-performance training centre is now officially open at Northland Power Curling Centre.

The annual Fin Island Trail Run took place Saturday with participants of all ages. The 5k run attracted 108 participants who averaged a time of 45:50. The 10k run saw 48 participants average 1:05:02.

RCMP have arrested a man in relation a break and enter and robbery that occurred at a residence north of Edam on Jan. 12 of this year. A press released from the provincial RCMP has stated that on Aug. 24, at approximately 9 a.m.

Aug. 20-26 was Battlefords Pride Week, with a Pride March on Saturday at 1 p.m. in North Battleford, along with vendors and musical entertainment along the 1100 block of 101st Street throughout that day.

Submitted The 9th Annual Turtleford Summer Cattle Show was held Saturday, Aug. 11 at the Turtleford Ag Society Grounds. There were 97 head of cattle entered in the one-day show. The Judge for the day was Ryan Hurlbert from Saskatoon.
