The Battlefords North Stars (22-14-6-1) played two home games in front of their parents and billets as part of parents and billets weekend, picking up a win and a loss.

The Battleford AAA Midget Sharks (7-16-1-1) dropped both games against the Regina Rebels (8-9-3-3) over the weekend, but came close in both.

The Battlefords AAA Stars (21-11-0-1) played three games last week, picking up a last second win at home, and back-to-back losses on the weekend.

Mr. Rolan Farrant of North Battleford passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Battleford's Union Hospital. A Graveside Service will be held in the Spring of 2015. Dates and time will be announced when made available.

North Battleford RCMP responded to more than 90 calls for service over the weekend. Calls recorded were between 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23 and 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26.

In Loving Memory of Irene Buziak born July 5, 1919 at Square Hill District, SK. passed away January 14, 2015 in North Battleford, SK. Irene is survived by her loving family: DIANA Irene (Norm) Seltzer of Lloydminster, SK.

A preliminary investigation is under way into a fire at a group home at 1352 - 97th St. According to North Battleford Fire, it was a structure fire with major damage to the interior. The incident took place around 11:30 p.m. Saturday night.

Issues of disclosure have been delaying proceedings in fraud charges against an ex-chief of Mosquito First Nation and five others, however the next step toward possibly going to trial should take place March 2 in North Battleford Provincial Court.
