Why am I putting something in Maymont News about Carl Ross? Well let me tell you. Carl just turned 75 April 1. No, Carl was not an April Fool's joke.

Six traffic related complaints were among the more than 30 calls for service/occurrences dealt with by Battlefords RCMP between 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 9 and 6 a.m. Thursday, April 10. Wednesday 7:57 a.m.

OK, so the last issue was April 3 but it really did contain an April Fool's joke in our column. Author Robert Munsch is NOT coming to Unity Public School.

The water is running, finally! The crows are back, the skunks are out and geese are trying to land on frozen water.

It was a mild spring day Tuesday, and a good number of Battlefords Art Club members turned up at the Don Ross Centre.

Local baseball will soon be hitting the ball parks. The NSRBL held their annual general meeting Sunday night to plan for the 2014 spring season.

There were two evenings of advance polls for the 2014 byelection April 8 and 9. In total, 134 people took advantage of voting early. In the last by-election in 2011, 144 voters attended the advance poll. Byelection day is on Wednesday, April 16.

The Battlefords North Stars wrapped up their 2013-14 season with a final team dinner Tuesday night at the Civic Centre. Following the dinner, the team handed out the final two awards of the season.
