I hate to disappoint readers who expect this publication to stick to local issues. But frankly, if I hope to stay sane one minute longer, I have to hear myself talk about Toronto. I have been feeling pangs of nostalgia for the place as of late.

The piousness regarding government travel expenses is getting a little rich these days. On April 3 Social Services Minister June Draude announced she would repay $3,600 in expense claims for a car service for four days while on a trip in London.

The Wilkie Outlaws were clearly in no mood to settle for just one title. That could be said about the Outlaws' 4-1 victory over St. Walburg Eagles to win their second straight North Saskatchewan River Hockey League title.

TKACHUK: It is with great sadness that the family of Louis Tkachuk announces his sudden passing on March 6th, 2014, at the age of 84.
