Between 6 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, Battlefords RCMP responded to 30 calls for service/occurrences. Among those calls were four alarms and three false/nuisance 911 calls. Monday 7:31 a.m.

More than 35 calls for service/occurrences were responded to be Battlefords RCMP between 6 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14 and 6 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15. Three false alarms and three nuisance 911 calls were also dealt with Friday 6:47 a.m.

Hoar frost, dazzling bright, white hoar frost! That was the vision on Friday morning Feb. 14. That is the first hoar frost in over a month. This will give us a rain mid-August that will help fill the crop. I like to see the hoar frost.

The Battlefords AAA Stars won two out of three games last week to keep pace with the Notre Dame Argos in the SMAAAHL standings. The Argos are three points ahead of the Stars for first in the league.

A report of a possible structure fire at 50 - 1401 114th Street Sunday at about 4 p.m. turned out to be a vehicle fire. North Battleford Fire Department quickly extinguished the blaze, but were on the scene for about 50 minutes dealing with incident.

Silvertips forward Devon Dicus scored with 4:28 remaining in overtime to give Shellbrook a 7-6 win in game four of their best-of-five series with the Meota Combines. Shellbrook's win tied the series at two.

Between 6 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 and 6 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, Battlefords RCMP responded to more than 30 calls for service/occurrences. They also dealt with four false/nuisance 911 calls and two false alarms. Saturday 9:18 a.m.

It was a quiet 24 hours for Battlefords RCMP as members responded to less than 20 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13 and 6 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14. There were four alarms responded to, but all were false. Thursday 11:07 a.m.

The battle against invasive weeds continues.

A 20-year-old man is facing weapons charges after an assault at a business on 101st Street Friday at about 7 p.m. Battlefords RCMP responded to a call to the business and found a 52-year-old man suffering from head injuries.
