RCMP in North Battleford are calling shifts between 6 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 and 6 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18 quiet, when they were called to less than 20 occurrences. Among those calls were three false alarms. Tuesday 6:29 a.m.

The Battlefords North Stars continue to have a hard time against the Kindersley Klippers. The North Stars lost 3-1 in Kindersley Tuesday night, dropping five of their last six games against the Klippers.

Battlefords RCMP were called to 25 incidents between 6 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17. Among those calls were two false alarms and three incidents where 911 was misused. Monday 9:28 a.m.

REED - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elsie Anne Reed, late of Saskatoon, SK on November 30, 2013 at the age of 76 years.

The Wilkie Food Bank has been a staple in the community for approximately 25 years, operating year round. Run now by a committee of three volunteers, it had first started on the basis of food donations.

CARSTENSEN: William Clifford Carstensen, better known as Cliff, was born in the Gallivan district Feb. 9, 1929. An accomplished pianist, who could also entertain for hours on the piano accordion.

The legendary Harry Bondar is remembered as the owner of the largest boat and RV centre in western Canada. He was born on April 7, 1922, to Robert and Jesse Bondar at Prince Albert. Harry received his elementary education in Regina.

The Christmas season is difficult for some, said North Battleford Senior Citizens Action Now Club president Margaret Kemp Wednesday, including those who are in hospital or needing health care services.

Jordan Keller had a goal and two assists to lead the Battleford Beaver Blues to a 6-1 win over the Glaslyn North Stars at the Battleford Arena Dec. 12. Battleford has won three straight games to open the season.

North Battleford Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle fire at the rear of 2214 Douglas Avenue at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. RCMP report the vehicle had been reported stolen from Meadow Lake.
