Another beautiful week of autumn weather. At the start of the week we had a much needed one inch of rain here at the farm.

The city of North Battleford is seeking to avoid any repeat of last year's computer server crash that resulted in a major loss of financial data. To that end, the City has hired an Ottawa firm, A Hundred Answers Consulting Inc.

Oct. 28 is set as the next court date in the case against Harry Michael Dekker. Dekker was charged with one count of sexual assault in connection to an incident last fall.

CHARABIN: Celebration of Life Service for Ms. Laurel Charabin of North Battleford was held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 @ 2 p.m. from Third Avenue United Church with Reverend Fred Tinio officiating.

Building permits in July did not see much change from the same month the previous year. A total of 13 permits were issued for July, down four from the same month in 2012, according to the latest numbers.

Beginning at 2 p.m. Wednesday, 14 people will be recognized with St. John Ambulance Awards for their actions in life-threatening circumstances. This ceremony will take place at the Chapel Gallery in North Battleford.

Each year Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation commits approximately $308,000 to purchase medical equipment for BUH from money raised from four main fundraising events, according to a BUHF press release.
