With the Battlefords North Stars first regular season game just under a month away, the team will hit the ice in preparation next week. The North Stars' training camp runs from Aug. 30 to Sept. 1 at the Civic Centre. At 3 p.m. Sept.

The RM of Paynton No. 470 will be celebrating it's centennial this year and will be holding a dinner and dance Aug. 24. Paynton gym will be host to the event which starts at 4:30 p.m. for cocktails followed by a catered supper at 6 p.m.

The fourth Annual Turtleford Ag Society Summer Cattle Show was held Aug. 10 at the Turtleford Ag. Society Grounds. There were approximately 110 head of cattle taking part in the one-day show.
