John (Jack) Boyd: An entrepreneur and citizen without peer

Jack Boyd was born to George and Minnie Boyd on Sept. 27, 1903 in a log and sod cabin in the district of Lovell (later to be named Cee Pee), N.W.T. His family moved to Radisson in 1905, and then to North Battleford in 1913.

A red generator and a green chainsaw were stolen when a garage located on the 700 block of 100th Street in North Battleford was broken into March 11. A camera and medication were stolen from a residence at 1092 - 107th St. between March 3 and 4.

Battlefords RCMP were called to deal with a hostage situation involving a firearm at about 4:20 a.m. Sunday. Police say they were advised a man with a firearm was holding occupants of a residence on the outskirts of North Battleford hostage.

Another drug bust

There has been another drug bust, this time on Sweetgrass First Nation. RCMP have arrested and charged 44-year-old Joe Paskimin and 28-year-old Vicky Morin. Both are from Sweetgrass First Nation.
