Dear Editor Someone is trying to reinvent the wheel - provincially standardized exams for high school students. There are perhaps a few hurdles to consider and overcome. Children come to school with a myriad of desires, ambitions and abilities.

May everyone enjoy spring when it comes. We welcome each sign as it appears. The longer days of sunshine, the geese, the crows and even the gophers are attractive. It is hard to visualize the gardens for this year.

The Department of Public Works and Engineering is working on Martin Crescent today - repairing a water leak on a hydrant branch. Water may be shut off to some homes and the road will be closed for most of today (April 18th).

North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services responded to a major fire in a garage on 107th Street Tuesday. The call came in to NBFES around 10:40 p.m. The fire department report the blaze happened on the 1200 block of 107th Street.
