Santa's Holiday Hoedown was the theme of the Christmas concert held in the Neilburg Composite School gym Dec. 12.

New year 2013 has arrived and we hope it is a good one in every way. Jean Stewart spent Christmas Eve with the Cameron Stewart family and Christmas Day with the Stoughton family. It was so good to see everyone and all the great-grandchildren.

The St. Walburg Eagles are still leaders in the North Saskatchewan River Hockey League, but Willkie won three times on the weekend and gained some ground. Wilkie sits tied for second place with Turtleford after a busy week of senior hockey.

The Christmas season has come and gone all too quickly. It was a busy time with lots of visiting, entertaining and family gatherings. Some, who had been wintering in Arizona and area, were home for Christmas.

A towering figure in the real estate community in the Northwest was paid his last respects this week. The funeral for Roger Manegre was held Tuesday at Don Ross Centre in North Battleford.

A precautionary drinking water advisory has been issued for the Village of Neilburg. A power outage during the night Dec. 30/31 caused a pump system failure which resulted in a situation where this order was necessary.

Well, now it's official. Both regular Christmas and Ukrainian Christmas are over. Ukrainian New Year's is this weekend and there are still some communities in Saskatchewan who celebrate these festivities.
