An accomplished former Chief of Poundmaker First Nation is the recipient of an honorary degree from the University of Saskatchewan.

The Junior Citizen of the Year in the Battlefords can add another honour to her mantle. Lindsay Martel has now been awarded the Saskatchewan Weekly Newspaper Association Junior Citizen of the Year title.

Northwest students were among those earning degrees at the University of Saskatchewan spring convocation. The long list includes two medical doctors from North Battleford - Roryck Baptiste and Jeoffrey Shumilak.
