Changes are coming to the Battlefords Business Excellence Awards, which will be moving to the fall and will see a number of format changes. The 19th annual event will be held Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts.

Dear Editor On May 10, I attended the Provincial Drama Festival. Although it is wonderful to see so many young people participate, I have serious concerns regarding this particular event.

May 20 was the first day for quite some time that the wind was not blowing. I really enjoyed the calm day. Someone once said spring in our part of the world comes all of a sudden. It's here.

Some of you may remember a Battlefords Vignettes article I wrote a few months ago. It was a chronicle about my battle of the bulge. In it I laid bare my soul and through a partnership with Lisa McEachern at Northern Athletic Club I set a goal.

Sometimes a near perfect event comes along. I experienced one of those this past weekend while attending a district Toastmasters conference.

The MASY Challenge is a synchronized swimming competition that annually features the best swimmers in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and B.C and the Yukon.

Seniors will converge on Rosetown June 2 for the Rivers West District 55+ Senior Summer Games playdowns.

Don Ross Centre rocked with creativity and grace April 9 to 12 as the venue of the 2012 Battlefords Dance Festival.

Spring is here and the Western Development Museum in North Battleford is sprucing up the outdoor village for family fun. The outdoor garden is planted and the farm animals are arriving next weekend.
