The same day Graham Hildebrand learned he was the goaltender of the week he turned in his third Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League shutout and second at the Civic Centre against the La Ronge Ice Wolves.

The flood in July of 2010 effected many people in our community. The Battlefords Boys and Girls Club was no exception.

Libraries offer so much for all ages to read and learn and the experiences reach beyond the pages of the books. The Maidstone Library spent Saskatchewan Library Week offering opportunities to try something new.

The Huskies are back-to-back North Battleford Men's Touch Football League champions. The Huskies were first throughout the regular season with just one loss and they continued their winning ways Sunday taking the final 15-6 over the Gophers.

Dear Editor The "Occupy Canada" movement that took place recently inspired me to write saying the NDP should once again occupy Saskatchewan before it is too late.

This week at Maidstone High School has been a busy one. It is the last week of our magazine campaign and there have been a ton of sales. Yearbook is starting up this week with many joining this year.

FORSYTH: Celebrating The Life of Marjorie Ella Forsyth who was born Feb. 15, 1919 at Edam, SK and passed away Oct. 1, 2011 at North Battleford, SK at the age of 92 years.

Last week I received a copy of a publication in which one of my weekly articles appeared.

Dear Editor I read "Padding the poll" (News-Optimist, Oct. 21) with mixed feelings. It made me laugh, but it also made me angry. I find this editorial to be a poor opinion. You are the ones who set up the online poll in the first place.
