Mitch Berg scored the game-winning goal Wednesday when the Battlefords North Stars faced off against the Melfort Mustangs. Fortunately for the Battlefords they picked him up in a trade last week.

The search for volleyball gold led the two North Battleford Comprehensive High School senior teams in different directions, but both prevailed with gold medals from their tournament play on the weekend.

Saskatchewan RCMP responded to over 239,000 calls for service last year alone across the province. According to Sgt. Paul Dawson, F Division media relations officer, the calls are often diverse in nature.

The Kiwanis Educates Youth (KEY) Club at John Paul II is a community service based club that is sponsored by the local Kiwanis club. The group works closely with the Kiwanis club, and have established close relationships with the members.

Theresa Kennedy was to Saskatoon for a checkup on her hip. Everything is healing nicely. Her son Scott drove her there. Lil McMillan was to Edmonton for an eye appointment. Things are better than last time, but she has to return in six weeks time.

The temperature Monday morning was -27 C. That is quite a change from last week. Forecaster say the cold weather will be with us for a few more days. Along with the frigid temperatures is a strong, cold wind making it feel much colder.

POLICHUK - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Polichuk, late of North Battleford, Saskatchewan on December 31, 2011 at the age of 63 years. Terry was born on September 13, 1948 at North Battleford, Saskatchewan.
