Birthday celebration lasts all week

Congratulations to Milt McMillan who celebrated his 97th birthday Monday, Thursday. Friday, Saturday and Sunday the grandchildren and great-grandchildren visited. Monday the immediate family enjoyed Chinese food and cards.

Holiday social schedules ramping up

Christmas parties and programs are underway keeping everyone busy. Doug McLaine attended a Christmas party in Neilburg on Friday evening, Dec. 2. It was sponsored by his employers, the Urlachers.

North Stars sweep weekly awards

The North Stars continue to impress and the most recent accomplishment to go along with their 26-5-0-2 record is a sweep of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's player of the week awards. The player of the week was Blake Tatchell.

École Père Mercure in the final stages of developing an IB program

École Père Mercure has announced it is in the final stages of creating an International Baccalaureate Primary Years program for students aged three to 12. The process to create an IB program was started in 2009 and will be finished before April 2012.

The past week's weather featured a very high wind, not much snow and cloudy skies. Temperatures have been below zero for the most part.
