ORR : Funeral services for David Orr, age 82 of Kamsack who died April 26, 2011 in Kamsack was held Tuesday, May 3 in the chapel of Andrychuk Funeral Home with Revs. Kim and Susan Salo officiating. Burial was in the Riverview Cemetery in Kamsack.

In the wake several grass fires doused by North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services over the past couple of weeks, Fire Chief Pat MacIssac has issued a caution to the public, describing the fire risk as extreme.

A municipal byelection will soon be called to fill the seat of Councillor Rhonda Seidel in North Battleford. Seidel is leaving her city council seat, confirms City Clerk Debbie Wohlberg.

BREVIK: In Loving Memory of Cristal Ann Brevik who was born Sept. 21, 1964 at Yorkton, SK and passed away April 30, 2011 at Saskatoon, SK.

Members of the North Battleford Royal Purple Lodge No. 173 attended a District No. 6 meeting in Cut Knife May 1. District Deputy Audrey Griffith chaired the meeting, which was attended by 44 ladies, with St. Walburg and Unity also represented.

As Mother Nature finally has her recycled hay together and figured out what season we are supposed to be in, other signs of spring and the progress into summer are starting to show.

The weekend was a busy one in our village. The annual meeting of the community centre was held Friday evening. Saturday morning saw an enthusiastic group of people working on the cemetery clean up.

Recently I drove to Frobisher, a trip that usually takes about half an hour along Highway 18. Just east of Bienfait, there was the usual road hazard sign with the three bumps, but curiously, it has a 60 km speed limit. Pfffttt ... I thought.

Canadian Red Cross and SaskCentral have announced that effective immediately, cash donations to help residents devastated by floods will be accepted at participating Saskatchewan credit unions until June 13.

Dale and Debbie Kennedy, Scotty and Darlene Kennedy of Lloydminster and Sam and Barb Kennedy of Maidstone all visited their mom Theresa Kennedy for Mother's Day. They all enjoyed supper at Cindy's Place.
