Paynton Volunteer Fire Department had a small but potentially out of control fire situation to tend to this past weekend. A passerby noticed a fire in the ditch about 6 kilometres south of Paynton.

Stolen truck torched

A truck stolen from a Greenstreet resident May 15 was recovered in Onion Lake two days later. The 2009 black Dodge Ram had been extensively damaged by fire.

DuPont is helping to raise money for the Credit Union CUPlex. From December 2010 to July 2011 producers will purchase DuPont herbicides at 11 local farm retailers: 80 - 85 per cent of these purchases will be made May to June.
