Welcome to my annual Box Office Year in Review column, where I look at the winners and losers of the year 2011.

An exciting day of NFL action Sunday capped off the regular season and now playoff preparations begin. One team considered the underdog in the playoffs would have to be the only team with a record below .500.

North Battleford RCMP and the coroner's office have determined a manfound dead in the CN Rail yard Dec. 29, died of natural causes. The man has been identified as 45-year-old Elvis Edward Johnson. No foul play is suspected.

Dear Editor Perhaps the Battlefords could try curtailing obnoxious ATV use the way Thornhill did. One weekend last fall, RCMP pounced all over illegal behaviour.

It was a busy year at North Battleford City Hall, but the events that happened on one afternoon in July of this year overshadowed other activities. July 22 was the day the heavens opened up as North Battleford was hit by the Flood of 2010.

By any measure, 2011 was a far more active political year than usual in the Battlefords. It is highly unusual for the federal, provincial and municipal levels of government to all hold elections in the same year.

Blair and Sandra Lamon of JJ Lamon (Petro Can) are supporters of their local community groups and businesses, however a fuel tank and semi are not purchases available locally.

Dear Editor Jan. 5, there was an article in the Regina Leader Post, "Home Care, now and in the future".

There has been a suspicious death at the yard of the Canadian National Railway in North Battleford. Battlefords RCMP were called to the scene of the death shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday.
