The Battlefords AAA Sharks were in Swift Current for two games in Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League action and, despite being outshot, they kept the final scores close.

The Blaine Lake Community Association (BLCA) hosted its annual Wayne Horner Open spiel Jan. 13 with six rinks registered. The funspiel is held annually in memory of Wayne Horner who was very instrumental in establishing the BLCA.

Another water treatment plant in North Battleford is to be shut down temporarily, though this time it was a planned shutdown. Water Treatment Plant No. 1 will be temporarily shut down for approximately two days, starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

I would like to dedicate this article to someone near and dear to our hearts, Sarah (Gillatt) Beaudion. A birthday party was held Jan. 7 in the seniors' hall to celebrate Sarah's 93rd birthday. Family and friends gathered for this event.
