The 2013 football season at Humboldt Collegiate Institute (HCI) came and went without a new announcer's tower but the project is far from being scrapped.

Three months after the infamous party that led to 11 teens being charged, there have been some developments in the Lanigan hazing case. Meeting at Humboldt provincial court on Dec. 16, Crown and defence attorneys agreed on an adjournment until Jan.

I have to say, it's nice to be in a community where people aren't completely debilitated by the thought of wishing someone a Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays.

KNAUS: Emily Katherine October 29, 1917 - December 5, 2013 The death of Mrs. Emily Katherine (nee Paproski) Knaus of Lanigan, SK, occurred at Lanigan Hospital, Lanigan, on Thursday, December 5, 2013. She was 96 years of age.

WEIMAN: Wayne Wilfred June 8, 1960 - December 9, 2013 The death of Mr. Wayne Wilfred Weiman of Oliver Lodge, Saskatoon, SK, (and formerly of Bruno, SK), occurred at his residence on Monday, December 9, 2013. He was 53 years of age.

When Mike Behiel's business was broken into in March, he bought two safes, reinforced the windows and installed security cameras.

Back in June, it was honoured in front of a local crowd with a couple of dignitaries when two new projects were unveiled on the land, but on Nov. 19 the Original Humboldt Site received national attention.
