HUMBOLDT — A familiar scene to Humboldt Broncos fans was included in Governor General Julie Payette's Canada Day address. Near the end of the video with her adress, Payette stood in one of the boxes at the Elgar Petersen Arena.

EAST CENTRAL — A rematch is coming to the Melfort constituency this fall. Local New Democrats have once again selected Lorne Schroeder, a LeRoy area organic beef farmer, to represent them in the upcoming provincial election.

HUMBOLDT — The City is asking residents to stay off the streets due to flooding to avoid additional property damage.

LEROY — A white-tailed buck was shot and left behind two miles east of LeRoy. Humboldt conservation officers said they learned about it on June 21. They said they attended the scene and located some evidence. There was no deer season on at the time.

HUMBOLDT — Humboldt Collegiate Institute’s class of 2020 has had to show resilience and perseverance to face trying times, said its valedictorian.

MELFORT — The City of Melfort is receiving $57,000 for the project to improve the crosswalk at the corner of Brunswick School and Stovel Avenue.
