NIPAWIN — A car was sent approximately 200 feet off the road after colliding with a moose on Highway 35 north of Nipawin. Nipawin Fire responded to the call in the evening of June 7.

Prekindergarten to Grade 12 students and staff will be returning to classroom for the 2020-21 school year, the provincial government announced.

TISDALE — Stakeholders with the Tisdale Middle and Secondary School (TMSS) have voted 87 per cent in favour of adopting a new logo. The new logo was designed by Cheyenna Kidd, an artist and former student of the school.

EAST CENTRAL — Library patrons in Humboldt, Tisdale, Melfort and Nipawin will be able to sign-out books and other media through a new curbside pickup program.

HUMBOLDT — Another summer tradition has been cancelled due to the pandemic. Streetfest will not go ahead in August, said the Humboldt Downtown Business Improvement District in a media release.

NIPAWIN — The Town of Nipawin have returned some missing trees to their proper home. Last week the town planted 70 trees at Purple Park and by Monday, when crews went to water the new additions, staff noticed one of the trees had gone missing.

NIPAWIN — Nipawin’s new bylaw enforcement and emergency planning officer started work this past week.

HUMBOLDT — A traffic stop in Humboldt resulted in the Humboldt RCMP seizing crystal meth, two replica firearms, a flip style knife, several pieces of stolen identification and drug paraphernalia.

RM OF STAR CITY — A 2015 John Deere Z665 Zero-Turn lawnmower was stolen from a RM of Star City property. Melfort RCMP found out about the crime May 24. They said it could have happened between Sept. 30 and May 24.
