HUMBOLDT — A much-needed upgrade to the city’s wastewater treatment lagoon would cost around $34 million, according to a preliminary design developed by Stantec Consulting. At its meeting on Feb.

BRUNO — A 2006 Arctic Cat Crossfire 600 snowmobile was stolen from a Bruno home. Humboldt RCMP said the crime took place in the overnight hours of Feb. 21 and 22 within the 800 block of Railway Avenue.

CARROT RIVER — The Carrot River Outback Thunder are fighting this week to keep their season alive. The squad downed the Saskatoon Westleys, 5-3, on the road in the opening game of their Prairie Junior Hockey League Survivor Series on Feb. 21.

HUMBOLDT — The Humboldt Curling Club is getting ready for some great curling with the Mixed Doubles Provincial Championships coming up at the end of February. Twenty-four teams will come to Humboldt on Feb.

A motorist was run down by a train at a grade crossing on a fateful night. The old signal man in charge of the crossing had to appear in court. After a severe cross-examination, he was still unshaken.

The three top teams of the week are the final three teams. Each was 9-2 going into the playoffs It was hardest to defeat Homan (Ontario) during the week.
