Saskatchewan’s run for the playoffs at the Scotties came to an end on Friday morning.

HUMBOLDT — After battling injuries for much of this season, Michael Harroch of the Humboldt Broncos is proving what kind of goaltender he really is.

CARROT RIVER — Two people are running for mayor of Carrot River. On the ballot are Ila Boehm, a current councillor, and Brock lrvine, who works in park maintenance. The byelection will be held Wednesday, March 25 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

HUMBOLDT — A major fundraising push by the Humboldt and District SPCA aims to raise enough money for them to build their own purpose-built animal shelter.

HUMBOLDT — Janice Weber doesn’t know what makes the Special Olympics Humboldt Floor Hockey team click, but whatever they do it is working, said the Special O Humboldt President.

EAST CENTRAL— Melfort, Nipawin and Tisdale have begun discussions on the possibility of submitting a bid to host the 2022 Saskatchewan Winter Games.

HUMBOLDT — Since she doesn’t have a lot of opportunities to show off her vocal talents, Humboldt’s Hope Beggs has wanted to audition for Telemiracle for a long time.

WYNYARD — Wynyard RCMP has charged 57-year-old Gerard Loehr of Ottawa with five counts of sexual assault and six counts of sexual interference relating to incidents that occurred between 1990 and 1996.
