MELFORT — Melfort RCMP have found what they believe to be a stolen TREK mountain bike. The bike was located near Melfort’s Kennedy Drive on Sept. 29.

PORCUPINE PLAIN — People from all over the region came to Porcupine Plain to see hockey’s holy grail – and the man who brought it there. Kelly Chase, originally from Porcupine Plain, brought the Stanley Cup to his hometown on Oct. 24.

CARROT RIVER — Carrot River council has passed the first reading on a new traffic bylaw, which contains where heavy trucks can and cannot go in town, and eliminates a stipulation limiting where school buses can stop.

HUMBOLDT — PARTNERS Family Services has started a trauma informed yoga program. Kristin Ochitwa, clinical counsellor with PARTNERS, said yoga can be used as a method for treating the effects of trauma.

TISDALE — Community Futures Newsask had former Regina businessman Darren Lang in Tisdale to talk to people about the impact of stress, and how to deal with a stressful situation. Lang said all his tips come from personal experience.

HUMBOLDT — Patience has been a virtue for Humboldt Broncos rookie defenceman Cody Hough. Before last season there was interest within the British Columbia Hockey League for Hough to play as a 17-year-old.

CARROT RIVER — Justice Haack was quite surprised when Carrot River Outback Thunder associate coach Kolton Holmen contacted him.

LEROY — Humboldt RCMP are investigating a barn fire four miles of LeRoy that they believe occurred under suspicious circumstances. They are asking for the public’s help. The fire took place sometime during the early morning hours of Oct. 20.

PORCUPINE PLAIN — The Stanley Cup will be making its way to Porcupine Plain, for the second time in the town’s history, to help raise money for the town’s arena.

VISCOUNT — SaskTel is reporting a service outage that is affecting internet, wireless, and home phone services in Young. The telecommunications company said their technicians are on route. They currently have no estimated time of repair.
