MELFORT — The North East SPCA held the official ribbon cutting for their Harry and Eve Vickar Shelter. The facility will provide shelter for homeless small house pets through the region.

CANDLE LAKE —An investigation is ongoing into an adult male that was found deceased in Candle Lake. The Nipawin RCMP received the report of a deceased adult male on Sept. 23, at approximately 12:50 a.m.

HUMBOLDT — The creation of Humboldt's Swan Pizza began when Pratik Vaviya was visiting Kiran Dudhagara and wanted something to eat. "At nighttime he was hungry so we talked and he really wanted to get pizza," Dudhagara said.

NIPAWIN — Nipawin council has rejected an amendment to the town’s noise bylaw.

HUMBOLDT — Humboldt’s newest police officer, Cpl. Ivan Ottenbreit, said he’s always been interested in policing. “I just had an interest at a very young age and like problem solving and helping people,” he said.

MELFORT — The Melfort Multi-K held its 9th annual run, filling up every spot for a total of about 575 racers. “We’ve never had that happen so that was a pretty cool thing,” said Allison Rogers, race director.
