Jodie Hergott may not have had a lot of stuff stolen from her property west of Humboldt but she has had strange vehicles slow down and look into her yard. Hearing about all the problems with rural crime, this does make her nervous.

The Canada’s Farm Progress Show in Regina on June 20-22 had some familiar names with Schulte Industries and Bourgault Tillage both bringing home sterling innovation awards for farm innovations.

Madison Pratt cuts her hair every last day of school to make summer a little cooler. This year, the seven-year-old made her annual tradition a little more special by donating over nine inches of hair to make wigs for children with cancer.

MELFORT — There’s something lurking in the back alley behind Melfort’s Main Street – art. The Northern Lights Gallery in Melfort is having its second annual Back Alley Tour on Thursday, July 19, from 4 to 8 p.m.

The Saskatchewan government announced last month that minimum wage will see an increase in October. The wage will increase from $10.96 to $11.06 by the fall, according to a Government of Saskatchewan press release.

With the calendar flipping to July and training camp less than two months away, the Humboldt Broncos continue to add to their roster as they added a pair of players over the last week.

While the Humboldt Broncos were being honoured at the National Hockey League awards, and the draft, Layne Matechuk and Morgan Gobeil remained in hospital. While both players remain in hospital, both have received good news over the past week.

The Humboldt Broncos and Swift Current Broncos share the same nickname, and now will share something else in common; both will have served as employers of Dean Brockman, after the former Humboldt head coach was named head coach and Director of Hockey
