Two communities got together to remember the victims and survivors of residential schools. Both the Melfort and Nipawin branches of Cumberland College observed Orange Shirt Day with a large community round dance Sept. 29.

It was a grind for William Duncan of Nipawin and Richard Whyte of Shaunavon, but they managed to catch the right fish to win the Vanity Cup. The team had caught 26.72 pounds of walleye on Sept. 30 and 22.65 pounds on Oct.

Anyone who has driven to Saskatoon in the last few weeks knows there is now construction happening.

A musical tribute to Canada celebrating the nation’s 150th birthday is stopping in Tisdale as part of a 28-city tour.

The Greg Moro trade from December 2015 is the gift that keeps on giving for the Humboldt Broncos as they received another piece as a result of that trade this week acquiring Ryan Straschnitzki from the Whitecourt Wolverines.

What a weekend we endured in the sports world. Unfortunately it was not for in game action, but what was transpiring outside of the field of play.

Star City Meet, Sept.

It was a small gathering but the Community Consultation regarding Canada Day and Summer Sizzler on Sept. 21 opened up the dialogue of how the city can make their two biggest events better.

Valerie Durnin has a long history with the media industry. Now she is joining the team in Tisdale as the new publisher of the Tisdale Recorder and Parkland Review . This is an innovative time for newspapers, especially small town papers, Durnin said.
