Oct. 6 A slow start by the Melfort Mustangs saw their Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League winning streak snapped at eight games as they fell 3-2 to the Estevan Bruins in Estevan on Oct. 6.

A threat made on social media against the Hudson Bay Community School by a student caused the school to take a hold and secure stance. The Hudson Bay RCMP were alerted to the threat Oct. 6 by the school.
